Learning Objectives

• Recognize the clinical presentation and medical management of common reproductive endocrinopathies affecting the pediatric and adolescent population.
• Recognize the scope of the impact of obesity on general and reproductive health, discuss strategies for prevention and review medical and surgical treatment options.
• Describe current best practices in fertility preservation and reproductive health guidelines.
• Identify screening and evaluation approaches to disordered eating and discuss methods minimize weight bias in your practice.
• Describe the evaluation, medical and surgical management of genitourinary and reproductive tract conditions affecting the pediatric and adolescent patient and identify the procedural and imaging techniques utilized in the gynecologic care of this population.
• Explore strategies to improve management of adnexal masses and gain better appreciation of contemporary evidence-based management of ovarian masses.
• Discuss barriers and techniques for improving communication about sexuality and reproductive health.
• Recognize the effects of chronic medical conditions and pelvic pain syndromes on reproductive function and quality of life and discuss strategies to improve outcomes.
• Describe contraceptive-related clinical innovations and evidence-based counseling on contraceptive options and discuss strategies for navigating barriers to contraception access.
• Discuss menstrual management among diverse populations and consider best practices for menstrual health education, menstrual inequity and period poverty.
• Identify how the electronic health record and social media can impact care for adolescents and young adults.
• Discuss strategies to provide sexual health care for youth in access limited states and incorporate advocacy strategies to support practitioners and patients.
• Discuss advocacy for adolescent reproductive health nationally and internationally through increased knowledge of current and future public health and health policy issues.
• Identify scientific advancements, best practices, and innovation in fundamental and emerging topics in pediatric and adolescent gynecology.
• Improve patient care and outcomes through integration and application of increased knowledge of research and best practices in pediatric and adolescent gynecology and demonstration of procedural skills in simulation workshops.
• Discuss evaluation and management of common vulvar dermatoses.
• Review career, teaching and professional development models and areas for improvement.
