Sawsan As-Sanie, MD, MPH is the Ferguson Endowed Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Co-Chief of Gynecology, and Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and the Endometriosis and Chronic Pelvic Pain Program at the University of Michigan. As an NIH-funded clinician scientist, her research focuses on the neurobiology and mechanism-based treatment of endometriosis and pelvic pain, with an emphasis on personalized approaches to improve pain and enhance quality of life. She is Past-President of the International Pelvic Pain Society, elected member of the American Gynecological & Obstetrical Society (AGOS), serves on the World Endometriosis Society board, and is an Associate Editor for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
